On Wednesday morning, we were all packed up, eagerly awaiting our ride to the airport. With two long-haul flights looming ahead, we were feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. Mini, our little travel toddler, had only ever tackled a 9-hour flight before, so a 13-hour hop to Tokyo had us parents a little anxious. But you know what? Mini, little miss adventurer, surprised us all. She snoozed, grinned, and charmed her way through the skies. Definitely not taking after grumpy Joe. 🤪
Our first flight was a breeze. We always book those middle seats, and more often than not, we get that empty fourth seat. Mini's got space to play and sleep, and wow, did she make the most of it! From coloring to movie watching, to snoozing off for 6+ hours, she was the ultimate in-flight champ.
But then, disaster struck! Our Tokyo flight got delayed. Run Forest Run! We dashed to catch our connecting flight to Bangkok, arriving at the gate just in time. Phew!
I've gotta admit, that second flight dragged on like a slow-motion movie scene. The fatigue hit us like a ton of bricks, and restlessness crept in like an unwanted passenger. And don't even get me started on the plane food—let's just say it was... eccentric, to say the least. So, our friend "Hanger" showed up.
After landing, we breezed through security, only to find our taxi MIA. We'd booked in advance, expecting a smooth ride to our hotel, but instead, we were left twiddling our thumbs for what felt like an eternity. Patience? What's that? After 25 hours on the road, our patience was running thinner than airplane blankets. But hey, we finally made it to the Lebua Resort, little did we know it was THE hotel from Hangover 2. Promise we'll keep the partying in check, with Mini as our chaperone. We're only on the 53 floor! 😮
Arriving at the hotel at the stroke of midnight, we collapsed into bed.
Today's mission? (BTW it's Friday) Rest and relaxation. We kicked off the day with a hearty breakfast, lounged by the pool, and now, as I type away, Mini and Joe are snoring. We're fully embracing the slow living vibe for the next few days, and we couldn't be more excited about it!
